On September 5th Portugal would go against Croatia, in their first Nations League game. This match would take place in Lisbon at the ‘Estadio da Luz’ or ‘Stadium of Light’. Ronaldo would be a starter as a forward, his typical position. Throughout the game the stats for Portugal as a team were, 15 shots, 6 shots on target, 49% possession, 580 passes, 93% pass accuracy, 5 fouls, 0 yellow and red cards, 2 offsides, and 5 corners. The overall score of the game was 2-1. 

The first goal by Portugal was made by Diago Dalot. This first goal would be made at the six-minute and forty-six-second mark of the match. Diago would also later assist in Ronaldo’s goal. The game kept going, and though the players had impressive techniques and great footwork throughout the game no goals were being made. Around, thirty-three minutes and ten seconds into the game Cristiano would make the second goal for Portugal, not only did this make the winning goal for the team but this marked Ronaldo’s 900th career goal. Cheers could be heard throughout the whole stadium, Ronaldo landed to his knees in joy as the game reporters stated “…900 goals in his career…only 100 until what he wants to achieve it’s 900 for Cristian in 1,236 games…”, (translated from Spanish to English). 

With this game, Cristiano Ronaldo is now the first men’s soccer player in history to score 900 career goals in official matches. He doesn’t stop there Ronaldo plans to get 1,000 career goals. All that’s left is to see what the future holds for Ronaldo and his career.
