ASU football is off to a hot start this season with a 5-2 record going into their bye week. In the last two seasons, ASU has combined for a total of 6 wins and they are looking to conquer that amount in one season. ASU’s second-year head coach Kenny Dillingham has goals and aspirations for the program that fans haven’t seen in a long time. He is making a difference one day at a time and is trying to rally everyone to support his team and be the difference-maker in these big home games.
ASU has had a quick turnaround with a powerful offense and a great defense. Cam Skattebo is a big reason for their success being that he is averaging over 121 yards per game and has 10 touchdowns on the season. ASU and their head coach are big on making risky decisions like going for it on 4th down when leading by just a few or instilling trust in a freshman punter to convert on 4th down with a fake punt.
ASU is rapidly showing how its program is taking flight and becoming a power-hungry team that we can look forward to seeing in a few years. ASU has had a rough go-around and now you can see the team’s morale and goals are changing, and we still have almost the season to play. They haven’t made a bowl game since 2021 when they were beaten by the Wisconsin Badgers 20-13 in the Las Vegas Bowl. They are currently one win away from achieving bowl eligibility and they have no signs of stopping after that. They are still fighting to play in a bigger game even though there isn’t the best of odds of them making it into the College Football Playoffs.
