Disney has been the new talking topic around the world. Some people may like how Disney has been putting effort into recreating their classic films in a ‘real life’ style. Some others think these recreations are unnecessary, or maybe even worse than the originals. Stating that Disney only wants the money that the live action movies would bring to them, which would be an equivalent to $465 million worldwide with just The Little Mermaid live action. These numbers doubled the earnings of the original movie, overcoming all of the controversy that it has gone through. Just like the rest of the live actions. People have claimed that some movies are too realistic, others are way too different, and some changes involving inclusion in their movies.
Realism is something that a live action is expected to have, however when done incorrectly it could harm the movie itself. For example, the Lion King live action was a phenomenal representation. It did not change many aspects of the movie, the quality was great, everything was great. Nonetheless, with the realism included something was left behind. The essence was gone.

The Mulan live action released in 2020, is one of the most hated live actions Disney has made yet. At the time of writing this article, on the website “RottenTomatoes,” a site made for people to rate movies and more, has rated Mulan 2020 a 46% in audience score. People claim that this is due to the changes done in the movie. Characters were changed, others were included and removed from the plot causing a great disappointment and discomfort among the audience and among other changes.
Adding inclusivity has been something everyone is aware that Disney is doing. Changing some characters’ race for ‘no’ reason. Causing people to feel strange seeing their favorite princess being a different race, leaving people with the doubt if the inclusivity is actually being forced into these films, whose answer to this is “Most definitely.” Some people claim that they do not mind the inclusivity in the remakes, others are against the idea of changing something so iconic. However, that won’t change the fact that they will still watch the movie.
With all the theories people have of why would Disney keep making live actions if they know people are starting to dislike the idea of them making them, the most popular one is just to gain money out of them. Which is an option not too far from reality, considering the past films were not too well received by the audience. Causing them to lose money, or gain critics. Strange World 2022 flew low on the radar, with only 2532 reviews when searching up the movie. Lightyear brough controversy. Raya and the Last Dragon 2021 was both loved and hated by many. The live actions easily recover the money used in these films, and these numbers are guaranteed. Considering the classic films are loved by everyone, some people feel nostalgic with some of these.
