The Squid Game Reality Show is a competition show that has real people and recently released its first episode on November 22, 2023. The Challenges involved are quite interesting and stressful for the players. Different things didn’t occur in the original series. Players will have to choose to do the activity during the episode. 

In this series, there are the same games that were from the original series and different games. One of the new games involved is “Battleship”. This game was originally a board game but in the show, they make it a physical game by having the players on boats while the leaders for the game have to choose where to hit the opposite team with circular objects. 

Another challenge is the “Mystery Telephone”. In the show, it shows that the telephone can be a great but also a bad thing for the individual who picks up the phone. Sarah Shachat had mentioned this to be an intense situation for themselves, “Someone will press it, eventually, and good or bad things will happen to them”. 

There have been multiple tests in this Netflix series like how most depend on friendship, who can survive, and who can not survive during these challenging times. Nicholas Quah was talking about their point of view as an audience reacting to the series, “The premise is a daisy chain designed to test remaining friendships: Coach TJ, who was elected captain, must now select another player to save, who in turn will pick another player to save”. This can be proven to be difficult for a single player to choose who to save or who to bet on winning this.

While the series is showing all the interesting challenges, There is one challenge that the players behind the scenes have been facing to the public. Many of the players have talked about their struggles behind the scenes and most fans are upset by this. One problem that has been recently brought up is how the winner still hasn’t gotten their money. Emma Keates talked about this issue by quoting what the player had said, “ Whelan said she hadn’t received a single cent of her prize money since the show wrapped in February”. People who had heard of this news were surprised by this and they should be. The players have voiced their problems for the public to hear.
