With fall sports for the Agua Fria Owls ending, it’s time for winter sports to come back, but even though it’s time for the winter sports it doesn’t mean spring programs can’t get ready for their upcoming season. Agua Frias baseball team is practicing and getting ready for their upcoming season with their offseason training. With the team practicing getting ready for the season, they are hoping for a good season with lots of wins to show for it.

The team has been working hard in the weight room to get stronger and faster to accomplish the goals they want for this upcoming spring season. The team is hoping to get more students recruited to play for the team this season. The team wants to see more support and players on the team,” We need more players to be out there and commit to baseball” is what coach Jaime Alejos had to say when asked about the future of the baseball team. With hopes of getting more people to come out and play they hope that they can have a good season. Right now they end for the fall season but are looking forward to the winter preseason that kicks up in January and goes from Monday through Friday weekly. They are hoping to see more Owls out there participating in trying to make the baseball team better and more fun.

The team last season wasn’t all too great with a record of 3-15, the team hopes to see a drastic change with those numbers increasing by a lot with many more wins for the program. To get the wins they are talking about they need to work hard for what they want knowing that it won’t be handed to them. A lot of the players who have been consistently showing up to practice have seen a difference in culture and a difference in themselves as a player. “It’s been going great… I believe it will” is what junior Gabriel Ramirez said after being asked how practices have been and if they are beneficial. The team also wants more support from students to come out and cheer them on starting in February, they begin their season on February 21st here at Agua Fria against West Point and Centennial High School in the Wayne DeCombs preseason invitational tournament, hopefully, this preseason tournament will get the team prepared and ready for what they want to be a successful season.

About the Contributor
Noah Booras
Noah Booras, Sports Editor
Noah Booras, a junior at Agua Fria High School, is a great student who is greatly involved with the school. As a member of the baseball team and the National Honor Society, Noah is a very active student. Currently, he wants to go to college and is looking forward to being a Sun Devil at Arizona State University.. Noah is a great example of a greatly involved and prideful student who looks to strive and succeed and achieve his goals. Journalism is Noah's favorite class and he is one of the new sports reporters who is happy to be a part of the team. As a class we are happy to have someone like Noah to be a part of the team who has the pride and enthusiasm to represent and be a part of Agua Fria High School as a student-athlete and as a person. Although Noah Booras is a representation of hard work, dedication, and optimism, he does have other hobbies and interests! Playing video games online with his friends is one of his hobbies in his free time, as well as watching sports having dinner, and spending time with his family. He is a very sociable person and enjoying time with others brings him joy. With good knowledge and awareness about sports Noah was a very good pick for the job! Noah is very dedicated to the point where it is one of his standard ways of living. One statement Noah said that made me realize the determination Noah possesses is, “I see myself getting ready to go to college and keeping my grades up and I hope to accomplish greatly in each semester with good grades.”.Working with someone like Noah makes people around him want to work harder and reach their goals. Noah is a very cool very kind person, and is the type of person everyone can be friends with. and spend time Noah is a perfect person for his job with the right goals in mind. Noah is happy to do the job and he will do his best to the end, and that's just because that’s the type of person he is and I am very grateful that I have an opportunity to work with Noah and the team.
