ASU’s star running back Cam Skattebo has become one of the most profound running backs in college football. Believe it or not, he had very few offers at the D1 level coming out of Rio Linda High School in Rio Linda, California where he rushed for over 3550 yards and 42 touchdowns. He ultimately decided to play at Sacramento State which was still close to home but was also a Division One offer. In his freshman year, he only rushed for 520 yards with 6 touchdowns but picked up the pace in his sophomore year going for 1372 yards and 7 touchdowns.
He ultimately decided that it was time to hit the transfer portal and explore his options outside of Sacramento State and he ended up landing in the Valley of the Sun and committed to play football at Arizona State University. Cam quickly made his name known across the valley making an influence with his team. People saw the kind of player he was and promptly became happy to see the type of player he would turn out to be. It wasn’t his best season because he only rushed for 783 yards with 9 touchdowns. Even though his stats were quiet the impact he made was a bigger difference than just his playing alone.
Cam is now in his senior season, making it known he is one of the best running backs and players in college football. Only ten games into the season, he has already surpassed 1000 yards and 11 touchdowns. He is making the biggest impact on this amazing Sun Devil offense, and his difference is giving them a glimpse of hope at taking this complete 180-turnaround program to a possible spot in the playoffs with a win in the Big 12 championship.
