A nurse from Henrico Doctors’ Hospital, Erin Elizabeth Ann Strotman has been caught intentionally causing dozens of fractures in Henrico Doctors Hospital in Richmond, Virginia. Erin Elizabeth is Currently facing alleged charges of child neglect and malicious wounding.
The Henrico State Attorney’s office is running this investigation, with the felonies Erin Elizabeth is facing a minimum of ten years in prison for the initial assault to a child and a maximum sentence of twenty years in prison.
The incident allegedly occurred on November 10, 2024, when a nurse saw from afar Erin Elizabeth purposely abusing a colored baby in the NICU. Once this incident arose to the public, the hospital revealed four babies born in 2023 and three more babies in 2024 were injured from Erin Elizabeth’s purposeful actions.
Both the Henrico State Attorney’s Office and Henric Police Department have encouraged any families who believe their babies have been victimized to come forward. As of now, the numbers continue to grow. This investigation has caused all of Henrico Doctor Hospital’s closed cases to be reopened and is extensively under investigation related to newborn injuries for 2023 to 2024.
On November 15, 2024, Erin Elizabeth was detained according to public defender Scott Karadani who represents Erin Elizabeth. Scott Karadani has told New Reporters that his client hasn’t pleaded guilty yet nor agreed to speak about the charges against her. Also, Erin Elizabeth has been denied any bail and is forbidden to have any contact with those under the age of eighteen.
Henrico Doctors’ Hospital has apologized to the public. But this sparks questions about who else in the hospital knew about Erin Elizabeth’s actions before they became public. It also raises the question of who else has a broken oath.
