Meet Edsel Ortiz
February 3, 2022
Edsel Ortiz is a kind, funny, and an overall good person to have in your life. Edsel is a very interesting, introverted, calm individual.
Edsel grew up in Avondale, Arizona, a place that I’m sure holds a lot of familiarity to all of us. A neighborly person to the eyes of the community, Edsel loves doing voluntary community service. He is a member and Vice President of the Interact Club, choosing to help in any way that he can.
In addition, no one could have ever expected our last three years to have such a powerful impact on us as people. During quarantine our lives changed drastically, and adapting to change is not easy. Edsel managed to get through the resilient times with the help of music.
His favorites of all time include songs from the Indie rock band The Broncho. ”I love the style of the music,” he said. “I felt a really deep connection with a lot of their songs.” Music is just one of the many ways you could express yourself, and it’s a good way to connect with others.
Along with that, he admires the fact that there are better days ahead of us, from the first thing in the morning to the last thing at night. Edsel believes that the idea of “knowing that the day is going to progress” is an inspiring thing that gets him out of bed in the morning.
Edsel believes that self-love is important during your teenage years, as you need to find yourself before you can enjoy others’ company. ‘’You have to know what you like, what makes you happy, and who you want to be around, you know?’’ Edsel said.
As well as that, he loves spending time with his friends. Although he has introverted traits he loves being around people he is used to. As he has extroverted qualities around family and friends with who he enjoys spending time. Edsel has two older sisters, and they are all seven years apart from each other, with Edsel being the youngest.
As far as favorite foods, Edsel loves pasta. “Any type of pasta,” he said. His favorite pasta is Rigatoni with creamy tomato sauce.
He has a current fascination for and passion for tea. He used to drink simple Arizona Iced Tea but wanted to try something new, so he branched out into making his own brewed tea from home.
As well as that, one thing that he wished he could’ve told his freshman self was to try new things and get involved in different clubs and activities. He regrets not joining clubs because of the fear that he wouldn’t like them. Trying new things is what inspires people to get involved and out of their comfort zones, having more experience with new changes for the better. So if you are a freshman he recommends that you go try out for that sport or sign up for that one activity. It is never too late to try something new.
Moreover, Edsel has a bright personality. He makes the “dad” jokes no one expects, and the crazy knock-knock jokes that everyone considers cheesy. Meeting Edsel will leave you feeling better than you were before.
Edsel Ortiz is an overall amazing person. Meeting him will leave you pondering about a new interest or a funny joke. Edsel will be an astonishing managing editor this year for the OwlFeed News Section, so look out for this exciting student and friend this year.
