Steven Fuller, Sports Reporter
Steven Fuller is a 17-year-old senior at Agua Fria High School which he has attended since his sophomore year. Before that, he lived in California, Nevada, and Washington, eventually moved to Arizona, and has been here ever since. This year will be his first and last year as part of the journalism staff at Agua Fria. In the past 3 years at AFHS Steven has grown to be interested in community-serving activities like being a part of the Agua Fria chapter of the NHS and the southwestern district of Kiwanis’ key club at Agua Fria all while growing his long-time love for Basketball. Steven is also planning to join the Agua Fria Men’s Basketball team because of his love for it.
Steven is very passionate about what he’s held near and dear to himself and how it has impacted him. Steven has always put his family above all else; being this family-oriented has made him the caring and cheerful individual he has become over the years, “My family is the most important thing for me, they are the reason to make as much money as I can”. He has always had a strong love for basketball since he was around 11 years old with his current favorite player being Anthony Edwards (Shooting guard for the Minnesota Timberwolves, # 5). He’s also quite interested in college. He wants to study computer science for the money: but if money didn’t matter he would study medicine or criminal justice. He wants to attend college to “provide for my family,” said Fuller during an interview.
Among his passion lies his academic success. Steven went from a kid who was angry with the world and didn’t care for school to a kid who strives for greatness. His attempts to build himself back up have not gone unnoticed; this past May he was accepted into the Agua Fria Chapter of the National Honors Society. He hopes his triumph will, “Get me into a good place where I can care for my family.” Steven is on his way to accomplishing his dream of becoming a computer engineer.
