Harper Lee, American author and winner of the Pulitzer Prize in 1961, has brought us many wonderful novels. Her most famous, To Kill A Mockingbird, was a sensational hit.
Harper Lee was born in Monroeville, Alabama on April 28,1926. She published To Kill A Mockingbird at the age of 34. She died on February 19, 2016.
To Kill A Mockingbird was set in the 1930s in Maycomb, Alabama. Atticus Finch, a lawyer and father of two beautiful children, defends an African-American that was accused of a crime.
A series of major events occur in the book, leading to Harper Lee’s Pulitzer Prize in 1961. Fifty-five years after To Kill A Mockingbird was published, Go Set A Watchman was published in 2015. It takes place 20 years after To Kill a Mockingbird.
We will miss our beloved Harper Lee — a true classic American author.
