1455979129harper-lee-to-kill-a-mocking-birdHarper Lee, American author and winner of the Pulitzer Prize in 1961, has brought us many wonderful novels. Her most famous, To Kill A Mockingbird, was a sensational hit.

Harper Lee was born in Monroeville, Alabama on April 28,1926. She published To Kill A Mockingbird at the age of 34. She died on February 19, 2016.

To Kill A Mockingbird was  set in the 1930s in Maycomb, Alabama. Atticus Finch, a lawyer and father of two beautiful children, defends an African-American that was accused of a crime.

A series of major events occur in the book, leading to Harper Lee’s Pulitzer Prize in 1961. Fifty-five years after To Kill A Mockingbird was published, Go Set A Watchman was published in 2015. It takes place 20 years after To Kill a Mockingbird.

We will miss our beloved Harper Lee — a true classic American author.

“You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view” —To Kill A Mockingbird Harper Lee 1926-2016
