The Spirit Stomp was held at Agua Fria High School on a hot Friday, September 20th. Accordingly, Agua Fria High School traditions are “truly historic,” said Ms. Mauritz, Agua Fria is one of the oldest high schools in West Valley proving that the school has a lot of history to offer to the community. During the Spirit Stomp Students and Staff members here at Agua Fria pause everything they are doing academically and walk/cheer with our school and community. “I am truly proud to work at Agua Fria so to see our kids smiling and celebrating what it means to be an owl,” said Ms. Mauritz, Agua Fria is like a home for most of the students and teachers that attend the school as they participate in events that are being hosted by student council or the Staff members. Students are always so bottled up, pushing themselves to complete their work daily which can create some type of stress, and like always there needs to be some type of stress reliever of any sort whether it is fun or relaxing, in this scenario the Spirit Stomp does that as it reminds the students that it’s alright to take a break now and then rather than staying trapped inside your work. You should do things you will never be able to do later in the future. The Spirit Stomp brings a lot of people together to create a respectable, honorable, and impactful community/ environment that can help create a mindset of resting so that in times of stress you know when to relieve yourself from anything that gets you to the point where you don’t feel good about yourself or something that you are doing. It’s genuinely okay to take a break from your work, you’ve worked hard, and you deserve it so don’t break yourself down because you are perfect the way you are and you can do anything that comes your way. “It shows our school spirit and it is also an exciting opportunity to showcase our outstanding programs and enthusiasm that defines our school,” said Mrs. Daniels, a True word from a wise principal.
