Agua Fria Homecoming Tailgate Was Awesome

By: Lauren Mitchell

Last Friday, Sept. 19, at 4:30 P.M. our school had its annual Homecoming Tailgate where clubs and classes raised money by selling items or playing games. Students hung out with their friends and spent time having fun before the Homecoming game started. Clubs such as ECE/FEA, Theatre, Yearbook, NHS, etc. had some tables.

dscn7270ECE sold hot dogs, Gatorade, mIni donuts, water, and chips. They were the only food group at the tailgate, besides the truck with ice cones, giving them lots of customers. Theatre did henna and face painting. The students did amazing art work on people’s faces, arms and wrists. Yearbook did pie in the face, where either you could pie your teachers or your friends. NHS had a challenge to either throw or kick a ball through a tarp to get candy.

There was a jail where you paid a dollar to throw someone in jail for 5 minutes or so. One table had darts to throw at balloons and pop them to get more candy. You could buy things to use at the Homecoming game to cheer our Owls on!

Not only were there a whole bunch of tables with games and food but an enlarged Hungry Hippos, Wipe Out game, and obstacle course. There were a whole bunch of things to do, whether it be trying to not fail Wipe Out or just eating food and hanging out with your friends. I, personally, can’t wait to see what they do next year at the tailgate.
