1:3 How to keep up with grades

By:Sarah Loya

The first quarter just ended and let’s be real, most of us have low grades. You start stressing over how you’ll ever bring that D up to at least a B, but you think it just won’t happen. That’s why I’m here to tell you how to keep up with your grades in just a few simple steps:

  1. Turn in your work. It’s honestly that simple. Even if you miss most of the questions it’s still workbetter than a zero.
  2. Set reminders on your phone for your homework. We all have forgotten about our reminderhomework a fair amount of times, so the reminders will help you with that problem.
  3. Come up with a schedule. I know, it sounds dumb, but if you get in the habit of doing homework the same time every day you won’t miss a day of it.
  4. Write down your assignments on your hand/sticky note. If it’s written out somewhere you can see, then it’s hard not to remember what to do that night.
  5. Go to tutoring. Yes, I know that you hate the idea of asking your teacher for help, but if know you have a teacher that can help you with your work, then you will stay up tutoringto date with your work.
  6. If everything else fails, talk to your teacher/counselor. They’ve been in the same situation you’re in right now, so they can help you come up with a plan so you can succeed in your class.

*Disclaimer: It’s not guaranteed that you’ll raise that D to a B, but hopefully these steps will raise your grades at least one grade higher. Which is better than nothing.
