On Friday, March 23rd, 2018 at the 49th Lunar and Planetary Science Conference, Robert M. Lightfoot Jr., the head of NASA, stated: “With the recent launch of the Falcon Heavy on February 6th, and with the help of the footage from the Tesla Roadster’s live feed, we here at NASA can confidently confirm the Earth is not a sphere, but that Earth is indeed flat.”

This has stirred up a bit of controversy and many big names have been debating on whether this is in fact the truth or not, these names include the Head of SpaceX Elon Musk, Famous Astrophysicist Neil DeGrasse Tyson, and Well known Environmental Scientist Bill Nye, just to name a few.

Most of the debate has actually been between Elon Musk and Neil DeGrasse Tyson and this was broadcasted live on CNN March 24th. Both sides provided strong points including a bit of pride from Elon himself, “I am the reason that we know the truth about the Earth’s shape. I am the at the forefront of the scientific revolution that everyone on Earth is apart of.”

Tyson responded with “Elon, I have the utmost respect for you and for SpaceX, but you of all people should know that this theory that you are siding with defies all laws of physics and counterintuitive for this “scientific revolution” that you are apparently leading.”.

So as many of us are most likely wondering, what does this all mean? Well, for now we’ll all be fine, but now we will have to rethink all of our known laws of physics. And for those who believed any of this, you may have to rethink what stories on the internet are real.
