Meet Angelina Cordova

By: Raeann Orona

Owlfeed Journalist

Do you know Angelina Cordova? She’s 16 years old and she’s a junior at Agua Fria High School. She had chosen the class journalism because it was the last option but she is glad she joined the class!

Angie’s favorite subject in high school is Math she said, “I’ve done very well in all of my math classes.” In the future she would like to be an engineer, she has taken extra honors math classes to help her reach this goal. She loves traveling, so much that she said, “I really want to go to college out of state, to experience living somewhere new.” If she could travel anywhere, “it would have to Australia because it’s somewhere where I’ve always admired,”.

High school had made a huge impact in Angie’s life. It taught her  her to be more responsible as a person and in her everyday life. Her being responsible is something really important to her because she feels like she has to be a role model for her little sister Sophia, who is only 8 years old. Her being responsible can show Sophia how to be responsible for things in her life as well even at such a young age. She had also said that, “all the teachers at AF always care about their students.”

Angelina has many hobbies but one of her favorite is  drawing. Angie told me that she is the the president of Art Club. How cool is that! She is very creative and this explains why Halloween is her favorite holiday, she told me that she still likes to dress up.

Two of Angelina’s worst fears are bees and lighting. She has always been scared of bees. But, lighting is a new fear, she said, “as I was in the car driving home from the movies lighting bolts had struck right next to my car scaring me so much I started to cry.” Since then, she has hated lighting and will not go outside of the house when there is lighting.

I had asked Angie “If you could chose anything to symbolize you what would it be?” She said, “a sea turtle because I love the ocean.” Angie’s favorite flower is a purple lily, “purple lilies are just so beautiful.” A moment that had impacted Angie was when she had fed the homeless, she said, “It was such a beautiful thing to see my family doing something so amazing,”.

Her mother is her biggest hero. She had Angie at the age 15, her mom, Sabrina was kicked out of the house leaving her pregnant and homeless. This is why she is Angelina’s biggest role model, she’s been through so much and still managed to bounce back and be a great mother to her three children.

This concludes all about Angelina Cordova.
