Do you know Jesus De La Rosa? He has lived in Arizona his whole life and he is part of the 2019 Graduating Seniors here at Agua Fria High School.

Jesus is from University High but is now part of the Owl Community, “The best part of the class of 2019 is that everyone is Friendly and was inviting when I transfered,” Jesus said.

He is also part of the 2018-2019 Journalism class and his position in the class is ‘Lifestyle Editor’. This is his second year being in the class. This is the position that he applied for. He joined journalism because he really liked it and he got the opportunity to write about the topics that he is passionate about.

This senior, who enjoys watching movies, reading books, listening to music and going out with friends, also has big plans of going to college to major in Environmental Science or Music. When asked what his favorite subject in school is, he responded “Environmental Science because is it a interesting subject and it is happening in the world right now so we should get to know about it.” And when he is not studying science or listening to music he is busy working at Jamba Juice, where he worked all summer. 

His summer wasn’t all work, he got the opportunity to hangout with friends, go the Phoenix Art Museum and even go to a concert. When summer was over and he needed to come back to school, Jesus said he’s not excited to be back in school besides the fact that he got to see his friends that he didn’t get to see over summer.

When asked “Do you travel anywhere or if you could go anywhere, where would you go?” Jesus stated “I’ve only been to California when I was about seven years old but I would honestly just like to go anywhere for the experience”.

Everyone has a significant moment in their life and you may have a different definition for “significant” but when Jesus was asked “What is a significant moment that you have experience in your lifetime?” Jesus responded with “Going to the Tyler the Creator concert.” Another significant event that has changed his life was the transferring from University High to Agua Fria High School. “Moving to Agua Fria has changed my life because it was a big move, it was calming and easier when I started,” Jesus said.  

Jesus’ favorite movie is Hereditary and when asked “If you could only watch one movie for the rest of your life, what would it be?” Jesus said “The Original Evil Dead, it is a supernatural horror film and has lots of gore and it’s a good movie.”
