Julie and the Phantoms is an original Netflix TV series. It is based on the Brazilian television series Julie e os Fantasmmas. The show was filmed in Vancouver, Canada, and was released on Netflix back on Sept 10, 2020.

Kenny has said in an interview on YouTube with PopBuzz that Maddiison Reyes’ audition was the one that stood out to him the most.

He said, “I didn’t want that shine, I wanted someone who was just raw and Julie from the block, is what I said to my casting directors. I want a girl who is really from the block, a girl that other girls will see themselves in, who is honest, authentic, and relatable.”

Maddison Reyes is a 16-year old teenage girl born on June 25, 2004. She is Puerto Rican American. Julie and the Phantoms were her first acting gig.

The series Julie and the Phantoms was his first break.

We should watch Julie and the Phantomas more because it is way more than a TV show. It has very heavy topics that you don’t get a lot of in a regular TV show.  But you do in Julie and the Phantoms, such as the characters Alex and Willie, and two gay characters who like each other.

There is also losing a loved one and giving up that thing you once loved to do with your loved one.

Everyone is loving Julie and the Phantoms but the one that got all the fans was “Unsaid Emily” by Charlie Glisipe.

Nora Dominick, a writer at Buzzfeed, said it best: “What I thought was going to be just a fun teen TV show turned out to be one of the most heartfelt shows I’ve watched this year,”
