On February 14, 2020, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie delivered his third studio album ‘Artist 2.0.’

This album sold 111,000 units in its first week. The album had a huge massive debut coming in with 149 million on-demand streams in its first week.

His last album, ‘Hoodie Szn,’ sold around 90,000 units in its first week.

In an interview with The Breakfast Club, A Boogie pointed out that “it’s not only Valentine’s Day, it’s my daughter Melody’s birthday and my album release date. So it’s really three holidays in one day.” ‘Artist 2.0’ is a follow up from his debut mixtape ‘Artist’ which was released February 14, 2016.

Artist 2.0 contains features from Young Thug, Roddy Rich, Gunna, London on da Track, Dababy, Summer Walker, Khalid and Lil Uzi Vert. Stand out tracks from this album are ‘Me and My Guitar,’ ‘Numbers’ (feat. Roddy Rich & Gunna), and ‘Reply’ (feat. Lil Uzi Vert), and ‘King of My City’ with all these songs charting on the hot 100.

Now let’s review what me and my cousin Elizabeth Tarango discussed about Artist 2.0. We talked about how she felt about this album. Elizabeth said it was “really good, emotions were converted so well. I love this album, [I’ve been] listening on repeat since it’s release. I enjoy every bit of this album from his melodic singing style to his rapping style.”

Here I can agree with her because I still listen to this album all the time. I think this album aged pretty well.

As we press play from the first song we get into a more R&B sound from songs 1-4. Then we receive track 5 with Roddy Rich and Gunna. This slowly shifts us into A Boogie’s more rapping side of his music which then goes back into that R&B style he’s known for on DTB 4 Life, track 8.

Personally I felt like this album was perfect for a Valentine’s Day release, and so does my friend Robert Loera. Robert agreed with me that this album was a 10/10. He told me, “If you don’t like this album you must have bad ears.”

Now as we await Artist’s next album which is set to drop in 2021, let’s spin this record back one more time!
