On July 20, 2021, the Phoenix Suns lost the decisive Game 6 of the NBA finals to the Milwaukee Bucks, 105-98. The question is, will the young Suns team make it back to the finals?

In this year’s free agency the Suns re-signed Chris Paul to a 4-year, $120 million contract. Are the Suns capable of making it back?

The Lakers, Clippers, Nuggets, and Warriors have the Western Conference looking healthy and as stacked ever, unlike this previous season. The Suns are either going to be underdogs or the big dogs, there is no in between with teams stacked like these.

“This could work,” Chris Paul told the Arizona Republic. He seems eager to work his hardest and make it to the playoffs, maybe even the finals again. We’d all like to see what Paul can do to help this young Suns team.

The young star Devin Booker averaged 27.3 points per game and fellow star Deandre Ayton averaged 16 points per game and 12 rebounds per game, so it’s safe to say the Suns have a future ahead of them.

This upcoming 2021-2022 season might make or break the Suns team. No one knows where it could be headed with so many superstars in one conference.

If you were to ask me, I say the Suns might not make it past the 2nd round of the playoffs. But, it depends if the rest of the West can stay healthy. If not, the Suns may go back.

Let’s say the Suns go back to the finals. Who do they have that is good enough to stop Giannis, KD, James Harden, Trae Young, Kyrie Irving, Joel Embiid, Jason Tatum, or Jimmy Butler? It’s easy to say they don’t have the star power to stop these powerhouses.

No one is saying the Suns aren’t good. I’m asking if they have enough to take them to the NBA finals and win.
