Talented, funny, a beautiful black queen who may or may not have gotten in a car accident on the first day of school (aka horrible driver, but let’s not get into that) — meet Charisma Armani Brown, a 16-year-old senior at Agua Fria who is currently writing for the OwlFeed sports section. Here’s a deeper dive into Charisma’s life.

She has been at Agua Fria for four years. During her freshman year, she moved from Royal Palm to Agua Fria.

One of her favorite moments while being here at AFHS “was when there was an assembly and the new gym was dark and everyone turned on their flashlights,” she said. “It was so exciting. It was like nothing I’ve ever experienced before,” she continued.

“Dealing with Covid this past year wasn’t that bad,” she said, but there were downsides. Her stepdad got Covid, and Charisma had to stay with her best friend for a while, because her mom was helping her stepdad.

Because of Covid, she didn’t get to play basketball her junior year. Also, online school didn’t go so well for her; she failed English.

Charisma was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and has four older siblings: three brothers in their 20s and one older sister in her 30s. She also has a dog. Charisma is very athletic and versatile, and her favorite sport is basketball.

Charisma loves music. Her favorite genres are rap, hip, R&B, and her favorite album is Dumb N Dumbber 3 by Rio Da Yung OG. Another fact about her is her love for alfredo, which is her favorite thing to eat: chicken alfredo, shrimp alfredo, chicken and broccoli alfredo, all kinds of alfredo. She also likes seafood (gross, in my opinion, but this isn’t about me).

While I was interviewing her she said she’d been asked if she wanted to get married and have kids.

“I want to have kids and I want to have a family but marriage is a big step and what if the man I choose to marry is disloyal?” she said. “Who wants to be with someone who is a disloyal person? But I would love to have kids. Then something I dream about is having a successful life then retiring and having grandkids, but I´m going to be careful on who I choose to be my baby daddy.”

I asked Charisma what she wanted to do after high school.

“When I finish high school, I want to go to college and study criminology or psychology and train to be in a swat team or a homicide detective,” she said.

As you can tell, Charisma is not only a very interesting person but a fun one.
